About Us

Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center is nestled away in Dalton, Pennsylvania, which is just minutes outside of downtown Scranton. It is enthroned on more than 300 sprawling acres, and includes a sparkling lake, beautiful trees and rolling hills ideal for outdoor meditation.

This spiritual place includes two peaceful chapels, a beautiful library, spacious conference rooms, comfortable classrooms, peaceful trails, a large gymnasium for recreation, and serene outdoor chapel! Our living facilities can accommodate over 180 guests. Formerly known as the Saint Pius X Roman Catholic Seminary, and later became the Fatima Renewal Center, this beautiful haven was home to over 145 annual retreats. Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center is proud to continue the legacy of this holy place, since we opened our doors on July 15, 2017. Owned and operated by the Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, we serve more than 10,000 guests each year. We are honored to continue the legacy of meaningful retreat, and hospitality which began on this beautiful property more than five decades ago.

Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center is a place where people can truly be transfigured in this serene environment. This tranquil land has provided a space for all people from different walks of life, to take a break from the hectic pace of life to reconnect back with their Creator. We host various events throughout the year, which include retreats, conferences, corporate events, private retreats, and sabbaticals.
